- 3rd National Workshop on Marine eDNA
- The biennial National Workshop on Marine Environmental DNA (eDNA) serves as a mechanism to bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss eDNA technologies, newly released national strategies, and implementation priorities. In June of 2024, we will convene to discuss four major subthemes: Strategic national priorities eDNA technology readiness to support decision-making Emerging technologies within the strategic framework Implementation and adoption: from research to resource management This event will serve as a mechanism to bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers to discuss eDNA as a strategic national priority, eDNA tool readiness and approaches to support decision-making, emerging technologies within the strategic framework, and implementation and adoption.

- Linking Genes, Rates, and Biogeochemistry in Marine Microbiology The Marine Microbes GRC is a premier, international scientific conference focused on advancing the frontiers of science through the presentation of cutting-edge and unpublished research, prioritizing time for discussion after each talk and fostering informal interactions among scientists of all career stages. The conference program includes a diverse range of speakers and discussion leaders from institutions and organizations worldwide, concentrating on the latest developments in the field. The conference is five days long and held in a remote location to increase the sense of camaraderie and create scientific communities, with lasting collaborations and friendships. In addition to premier talks, the conference has designated time for poster sessions from individuals of all career stages, and afternoon free time and communal meals allow for informal networking opportunities with leaders in the field.

Workshop - June 27 - 28, 2024
- All-Atlantic Aquaculture & Marine Biotechnology Startup Accelerator Workshop
- Within the scope of the AANChOR project and the All Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance, and following the previous capacity building & network events held by the Joint Pilot Action All-Atlantic Marine Biotechnology Initiative (AA-BIOTECMAR), on the 27th and 28th of June (from 10:00 to 13:00 BRT) the All-Atlantic Aquaculture & Marine Biotechnology Startup Accelerator Workshop will be hosted by AA-BIOTECMAR. The event, which will take place online, aims to foster collaboration and exchange of knowledge aimed at the development of startups and innovative companies in the aquaculture and marine biotechnology sectors. On the 27th, the focus will be a scientific/academic overview of Aquaculture and Marine Biotechnology themes, especially with an emphasis on environmental mitigation activities and low footprint. During the 28th, the focus will be the promotion of marine startups. Speakers will address topics such as the acceleration and expansion of enterprises, entrepreneurship and innovation for both sectors. To this end, academics and experts from countries in America, Europe and Africa will present their perspectives, research and contributions in dynamic sessions during the two days of the workshop. - Snapshot Cal Coast Jun 27 or 28 is happening all along the coast! Here we are featuring a specific bioblitz in Point Fermin, Long Beach, California where eDNA is being sampled for CALeDNA and invertebrates are being sampled by NHMLA's DISCO program. These datasets will ultimately come together. We've been co-monitoring this site for 7 years! Join us tidepooling, collect eDNA and species, and have fun!
